Collecting and Using Your Information
Types of Data Accessed
Configuration Settings
When You configure the Extension (e.g., setting refresh intervals, enabling “Random Interval,” “Clear Cache,” or “Specific Time Refresh”), these settings are saved using Chrome’s chrome.storage.sync
API. This information is synchronized securely with Your Google account and is not accessible to Us.
Tab Information (URLs)
To perform its functionality, RefreshMate temporarily accesses:
- Active tab URLs (for default refreshing).
- All open tab URLs (if “Refresh All Tabs” is enabled).
- Domain-filtered URLs (if “Any Page” feature is used).
This data is accessed only when needed and is neither stored nor transmitted externally.
Website Content (Optional)
If You use the “Click Refresh” feature, the Extension’s content script temporarily interacts with the webpage’s DOM structure to find and click refresh/retry buttons. This interaction is performed locally and no data is transmitted or stored.
Browsing Data (Cache – Optional)
When “Clear Cache” is enabled, the Extension instructs Chrome to clear cache data before refreshing tabs using the chrome.browsingData
API. It does not access or store cache contents.
How We Use Your Information
We use the accessed or stored information exclusively for:
- Applying and saving your desired refresh settings.
- Identifying browser tabs that need refreshing.
- Executing reloads and cache clearing operations.
- Performing “Click Refresh” actions where configured.
- Scheduling refresh timers using the
chrome.alarms
API.
Data Storage and Security
- Configuration Settings are stored locally using Chrome’s
chrome.storage.sync
system, managed securely by Google Chrome and Your Google Account. We do not have access to this data. - Tab Information and Website Content are processed temporarily during Extension operation and are not stored persistently or transmitted to us or third parties.
- The Extension is built to minimize data handling and follows best practices for data security. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed 100% secure.
Your Rights
As the Extension does not collect or store Personal Data on external servers, data deletion and updates are managed entirely through Chrome’s settings.
You can:
- Remove the Extension to delete configuration settings stored in Chrome.
- Clear Chrome Extension data manually via browser settings if needed.
Disclosure of Your Information
Since RefreshMate does not collect or store personal information:
- There is no data shared with Service Providers, Affiliates, or third parties.
- No data will be transferred during business transactions.
- Disclosure to law enforcement will only apply if required by applicable law, although no personal information is stored.
Children’s Privacy
Our Extension is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If You believe a child has provided personal information through settings or browser configurations, please manage it through Chrome or contact Us.
Links to Other Websites
The Extension does not independently link to third-party websites. However, if any external links are accessed through refreshed pages, please review the respective third-party privacy policies. We have no control over the content or practices of external sites.
